‘Morning, All...Just about ready for my morning swim...Another GORGEOUS day at Tahoe...& as my Son says...TWO DAYS TO CHILL...AWESOME!!!...& settles down, laptop on lap...( but, of course )... for an uninterrupted marathon session of ‘World Of Warcraft’...Jen...I have no idea which song it is, but, it’s obviously from ‘Good To Be Bad’, as I’m still thoroughly enjoying the little bugger...Cat...I have no idea...& no immediate intention to experiment!...One needs a little...er....liquid encouragement to accompany interviews, wouldn’t you agree?...Conrad...That’s an ol’ pal, Max Volume, a local rock DJ...he’d been pulling several long shifts...plus a snifter, or two, of that fine, Irish gold will induce the nods...or...he was bored stiff...OOO...you know the rest...Tiara...I’d follow your feeling...Hearts are pretty good gauges, I’ve found...It’s when we ignore them we end up in trouble...I did resume eating white meat recently...OOO-ER!!!...Chicken, mostly, primarily because I rapidly lost muscle tone when I stopped eating meat altogether & found the amino-acid supplements that were recommended just didn’t work for me...I mostly indulge in da bird when it’s a show day...good fuel for my engine...but, days off I’m back on my fish/salad regime...I have no desire at this time to go back to red meat, but, my Wife & Son are still carnivores...& yes...we also try to eat organic whenever possible...Good Luck!!!...Nice story, Heidi...& I always welcome your questions & curiosities, as long as they don’t get too indiscreet, if you get my drift, my dear...As you can tell, we have quite a shameless Board here...lots of naughty, nether region references...God knows where they get it from...OK...I hear the pool a-callin’...”Come, David...immerse thy bod & do some bleedin’ lengths, you laz sod!!!”...& with that...he was gone...”ARIEL...HERE I COME!!!” Love & LIGHT to You & Yours, Mes Amis...DC...aka...Aqua-Man |

Ahhh...’tis Friday, Boys & Girls...& hopefully, a restful weekend for us All...Forgive me, but, someone recently asked how I met my dear Friend, Chef -Extraordinaire, Marco Pierre White...Many years ago...I was taken to Marco’ first London restaurant, Harveys, in Wandsworth Common, by my friend, Tony Z, who knew Marco from Leeds...we connected immediately & have been great pals ever since...I delight in his success & relish when I have the opportunity to eat his extraordinary food...( I believe the Angels eat at his restaurants discreetly on weekends...)...I’ve heard a rumour he may be opening one of his fine establishments in Las Vegas, which is less than a hours flight from Lake Tahoe, which would be a culinary & social blessing, as I don’t see him anywhere near as much as I’d like...We have one of those friendships that doesn’t need daily communication...when we meet, we pick up where we left off the last time...It’s a fun, mutually supportive relationship...Panda Bear...As many of our Pals who see me in concert can testify, I do tend to have ‘senior moments’ at times when I’m singing...( so does Mighty Joe Elliott!!! )...Mine is usually the third verse of ‘Still Of The Night’...Fortunately, most people at our shows know the words so they help me thro’!...I usually have to refresh my mind on the lyrics during rehearsals...even the new songs!...Jeez!!!...Bijo...At last we’re coming to your amazing country...So exciting!...Kyunah...Me too...I hope to be able to bring WS to as many countries as I can while I can!...Welcome to the Board...Dear Anasazi...I must say I welcome your words & your positive energy, & found them most inspiring every show day on my tour...You are most welcome here...Kimberli...I must say when I read your posting, felt you were laying some kind of ‘guilt’ trip on me in order to respond to your post...& you should know, that is not a particular favourite approach to take with me...I don’t simply respond to our ‘regulars’, as most on here will say...If I missed your posts, or questions, then I regret if you took it personally...That is not what we’re about here...on any level...so, if you have a question, & I actually see it, I will endeavour to answer it...I hope that this will be agreeable to you...& with that...I’m giving everyone the day to do whatever they want...Why?...Cos’ I can, THAT’S why!!!...Have a GRAND weekend, Boys & Girls...Be Safe, Be Happy...& Don’t Let Anyone Make You Afraid...Love & LIGHT...DC |

By the way...I heard from EMI this morning regarding the 'Stormbringer' reissue...they're shooting for a Jan 19th release...Yadira...Please don't misunderstand, Sweets...I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality we received in your fine country...the most difficult part for me was the heavy smoking in the venues...on top of the incredible heat, it just made it particularly hard for ALL of us...But, we will be back, that's for sure...It's always fun to come to Spain & kick some Snake butt...&...that is it...Cheers, Y'All!!! |

‘Morning, All...Greetings & Salutations from Lake Tahoe...Mary...It’s more important to me that the song touches you, & why it resonates so much for you, regardless of the original inspiration for me...Quite simply, I was in love with someone who lived an ocean away...& we were both involved in other relationships...so, it made it rather difficult, as you can imagine...or have experienced yourself...Hi, Yuki...I’m doing some TV promotions for Japan later today...I’m very excited to be coming back to Japan...we gonna have us some fun!!!...Olivia...The ’Looking For Love’ lyric I started when I was still living in Europe, before relocating to Los Angeles...I finished the song in Canada...’Sailing Ships’ I wrote at Lake Tahoe...another reflective song, but, God Willing, also an inspirational, motivational one...Hopefully, both songs reveal what I was feeling thro’ the lyric & performance...or, to be honest, I failed in waht I wanted to achieve...Good Luck, DQ!!!...Rosangela...No, unfortunately, Poor Albert won’t let me in...He says I have enough to deal with with this site!...It’s his ‘baby’...Good Luck getting thro’, Alison!!!...OK...gotta dash...busy day today...I’ll try to stop by a little later...Carpe Diem, Boys & Girls...Love & LIGHT...DC |

Toms...OK!!!!!...Big A...No...there was only one final version chosen...I have heard that the former management are putting out a version on the remix featuring what we call a ‘guide vocal’ which is basically me singing along, letting the band know where we are in the arrangement of the song during the actual recording...but, personally, I hope not, as I was several ‘shots’ to the wind, most of the time...( ahem )...I was sent a copy of the remix last year for my thoughts & they were identical to the remixed ‘Burn’ album...not really thrilled, but, unable to do much about it...No doubt some will find it interesting & worth having...Ritchie & I did actually record a demo of the song to help show the band what we were thinking, as their original response was less than ‘inspirational’, to say the least...When they heard the demo they were sold on the idea...I remember Ritchie being pretty pissed we had to do that & said it would never happen again...&, of course, it didn’t...so, maybe they ‘powers-that-be’ have found that version, but, it wasn’t featured on the remix- disc I was sent...Other than my professional involvement with EMI, I have no relationship with the former Deep Purple management, & no say in the matter...Glenn told me they just invited him down to have a listen...He said it still sounded terrific after all these years...Jonny K...I hear Stockholm is delightful that time of year...( ahem, again )...Is there a train, perhaps?...( trice ahem )...Boys & Girls...I think that one of the reasons we’ve been invited back to certain places is that in the Summer, we play festivals in their area, & some of our fab fans aren’t so keen on the open air, muddy field scenario, so, they are rather ‘vocal’ in insisting we come & party on down in the relative comfort of indoor arenas in their particular city...That is certainly the case with the invitation to return to Stockholm, Gotenburg & Helsinki...Well...I bloody well hope it IS indoors at that time of year!!!...OK...I must prepare to pick up His Lordship from the Hallowed Halls of Learning...Have fun out there, Kiddievinkies...we’re having POOPLOADS over heah!!! ‘Morning, All...I sincerely hope ALL is well with you & yours...it certainly is with me & mine!...Life is good!...Lake Tahoe is just going thro’ a rather welcome cold snap, after some very, very hot & dusty weather...but, of course, nothing as intimidating as Gustav, as he comes threateningly to our shores...Be safe out there!...Thoughts & prayers are with everyone affected by the storm...eevie...Yes, actually...I took Jaz & some of his Friends to see Kiss when they played Tahoe on Saturday night...we worked together on some dates on the last European tour & had a fine reconnect...The crew & the band, particularly Paul, were exceptionally hospitable & treated my son & his pals wonderfully...It was a night they will never forget, I am sure...It was sweet to see my son rocking out...screaming his nuts off...OOO-ER!!!...Now, he’s 12 I have a feeling I’ll be the designated driver to as many shows as his little Lordship desires...( I also got his teacher tickets for Priest this weekend...he called Jaz from the front row, raving with appreciation...)...Hi, Papayans...I agree, that’s a fun song...I may have to do an unplugged version...& yes...life can take it out of you, sometimes...even when you’re having fun...There’s nothing wrong with taking a break to recharge your batteries...Personally, I find it very necessary...WHOAHH!!!...What’s all this talk about Santa???...It’s September, fer Gawd’s sake!...A while to go...let’s enjoy the blessings & gifts we’re getting now, Boys & Girls!...Incidently, we have a real Father Christmas here in Tahoe...I believe he officially changed his name...He looks perfectly like the conventional image of Santa...so...it’s always Christmas at Tahoe!...Ahh...Sept 1st...my Mam’s birthday...I will be raising a glass, or two, of the Guinness to celebrate her memory later today...( no doubt chased by a Bushmills, or three...)...Jaz is off skool today for Memorial Day here in the US, so, hopefully, we’ll get up to some mischief...Probably a LOUD boys movie downstairs...He does love his Sci-Fi...Valeria...I shall return whenever we’re invited, Sweetie!...Tho’ I think 2008 is fully booked for now...I am very excited to be visiting even more new places this year & performing an assortment of naughty WS songs for hopefully some new Friends...( cue the exciting music!!! )...Jon-kaare...I’m sure we’ll get a photo together sometime...& don’t forget...I believe we will be up around your neck 'o' de woods closer to Christmas...so, I'd send your Christmas wishes in now!...OK...I'm off to work out while my beloeved Family sleep innocently on...Take care...I shall stay in touch...Love & LIGHT...DC |

Thank you, Ged...Etype...are you 'hearing reports'...or starting rumours...either way, this is not welcome energy to post on the BBS whilst we're out here working...as for the solos...well...it has been proved to me, over & over again, that we cannot please everybody...no matter how hard we try...so, certain elements of our show, please allow us to enjoy our ‘moments’...But...& let this resonate loudly...from what I can see & hear from the crowd response every night, is nothing less than amazing...rewarding...& well worth the effort we make very night to present the best of WS in concert...so...by all means listen to 'The Piss & Moan Club', if you want...or come out & hang with the Def Snakes...have a pint, or 4...& get jiggy wid it...it's sooooo much more FUN!!!...Now, I’m looking forward immensely to kicking Manchester's firm, young & most attractive arse, tonight...in the nicest possible way, of course....& hopefully...they'll kick ours up to the next level...Love & LIGHT & Rock & Roll!!!...DC |

Ahh...Fret Thee Not, my Dears...we had a LOT of technical problemos last night...coupled with the stage feeling like an ice rink with the rain!..."WHITESNAKE ON ICE!!!"...it's a new concept...It can't have been pleasant for you guys out there in the rain...from where I was it looked like we were playing to a condom convention with all the plastic covers on you!...Anyway...absolutely no probs with the band...just rain related tech problems which seemd to grow worse as we played...That kind of experience pulls me out of my groove...& yes...it does piss me off if it can't be fixed...but, in a festival situation, you mostly have no choice but to soldier on, regardless...Sorry if it distracted you...& I thank You All for a fine evening in good company...&, not forgetting The Flying Dutchman stepping forth again in his rather fetching orange stetson!!!...OK...Bonnie Scotland here we come!!!...Love & LIGHT, DC |

A 1,000 thanks to All of You sending me such strong, healing vibes...& they are working...I had a good night’s rest & the medictations are kicking in positively, thank you...I am sure I will be fine for Lima, Peru & Mexico City...Lucy...& Everyone who came to us play...I can only express my sincere regrets for your disappointment, for I share in your sadness, too...It is never easy to make the call to cancel a show...Not only have we flown thousands of miles to play for you...I know lots of you have traveled significant distances, too...It is a most difficult decision to make...so, in this case, my doctor made it for me...As you know, our equipment didn’t get here on time from Argentina, so we rescheduled the show for the next night...I was hoping I would feel better, but, unfortunately, I felt worse...We have experienced the most incredible generous hospitality everywhere we’ve been so far on out South American tour...better than it has ever been...In fact, we have charted with the new album in Brazil at 36...so, we have been thrilled at how well everything is going...until now, of course...But, I am determined to recover quickly & return to performing with my Fab Snakes...so, I bid a sad farewell to Santiago, Chile...& hope I can return soon to fulfil my obligation to you...please know I love you...Once again, my sincere thanks for all the good wishes...they do work!...Love & LIGHT to You & Yours...DC. |
