Important Announcement – Fare Thee Well (2025 Remix)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, brothers and sisters of the snake, a special announcement for you after 50 plus years of an incredible journey with
you, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Jimmy Page and many more.

The last few years it has become very evident to me that it’s time really for me to hang up my rock and roll platform shoes and my skin tight jeans. It’s time for me to call it a day.

I love you dearly, thank everyone who’s assisted and supported me on this incredible journey. All the musicians, the crew, the fans the family it’s amazing.

It is time for me to enjoy my retirement and I hope you can appreciate that. Once again, I love you with all my heart.

Fare thee well,
DC.

The centre on my back of my battle jacket……Damn, tears in my eyes when listening to your farewell. Hope you have a very good, loving and healthy time ahead of you. Whitesnake was the reason I started out playing guitar when I was 12. I am 56 now and still hitting stage.
Thanks for all your good music and the inspiration for thousands and thousands of people around the globe.
      Cheers, Ed from The Netherlands

    Dear David,

I’ve been a lifelong fan and always enjoyed your musical gift to the world. I was hoping to catch your show on the farewell tour, but sadly now its impossible. Regardless, your contribution to music and making people happy lives on. All the best in retirement, well deserved.

    Forevevermore…

No words I can express this… the best rock ‘n’ roll band since Deep Purple!

You, DC has inspired us and many influences over the years, with that yell “ERE’S A SONG FOR YA”, and that hair metal years we appreciate! Every Whitesnake era is the golden age of rock’s history and it will be in the books. Thank you for the music and everything you’ve done and please take care, enjoy your retirement you’ve deserved (even if you can do one more farewell tour…)

You and the band deserve the honours to be inducted for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. The early years of Whitesnake and the recents have been underlooked for a long time, and someday, more of us, in fact, on a Metallica-global level wise, will listen to your songs and your legacy will never be forgotten. We’ll always salute you! LOVE YA DAVID

    We wish you well

Dear David. I have enjoyed your music since the first time I randomly downloaded the road from home in Warrington UK to buy the Ready A Willing single from our local shop. My vinyl albums, including the absolutely immense Live In the Heart of the City were worn out by my classmates and myself whilst at high school. I finally got tickets to see the mighty Snake at The Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool when I worked as a weekend milkman for extra cash when studying for A Levels. Trips to Birmingham NEC for the 1987 tour, camping in muddy fields at the Monsters of Rock in Derbyshire and numerous trips to Manchester to see you at the Apollo and the Arena all bring joyous memories. Enjoy your retirement surrounded by family and friends. Your music is truly in the hearts of many and will always be cherished. Very best wishes to the Saltburn Scoundrel from a longtime fan. X

David, thank you for all the electrifying music, the iconic vocals, and the pure rock ’n’ roll spirit you’ve unleashed over the years — with Whitesnake and beyond.
Your songs have been the soundtrack to countless moments, firing us up, lifting us higher, and reminding us what real rock feels like.

As you head into retirement, just know this: your legacy doesn’t fade.
The riffs, the voice, the attitude — it all lives on, loud and proud.

My wife and I had the privilege of seeing DC and Whitesnake many times in the UK, and one year when they missed the UK out, we had a fantastic trip to Germany to see them. DC, you and your troubadours will be sadly missed. Time takes a toll on all of us, what a graceful exit you made. All our very best wishes for along and happy retirement. 🤘

David I’m so broken hearted 💔 to receive the news you have retired.
Being a self proclaimed greatest Whitesnake choir member.
Having seen you 119 times, was hoping to make it 120😢
Making my teens right though to my late 50’s the greatest memories I will hold dear forever.
God bless you & my all that follows is all you wish for.
    Thank you soooo much.

This happened a few decades ago!
I had invited my girlfriend to my birthday party in a small and cozy place. At one point someone played a wonderful melodic song that made me freeze and listen instantly and spontaneously – at that time I listened to different styles but mostly electronic music … I also listened to rock … I knew songs by several rock bands, but I was not that seriously interested in rock and especially Whitesnake!
I immediately asked the waiter to ask the person behind the counter what song and artist was playing at the moment. After a while they told me that it was “Is this love” – Whitesnake!
This is the most spontaneous … the purest form of recognition, of spiritual obsession and EMOTIONAL EXPLOSION, from a piece of music, in my opinion, as a reaction, excited by the senses … and it stayed with me for life, until now – AND THAT’S HOW!
THIS IS CALLED A MAN WHO LEFT A MARK IN HIS LIFE!
So YOU, Mr. Coverdale, in its purest form, conquered one soul – MINE, but what is even more magnificent is that you conquered and captivated millions of souls…MILLIONS OF HEARTS, all over the world! MOTHER NATURE MUST…MUST FIND A WAY TO THANK YOU for creating and sending to Earth, an angel… for me – AN ANGEL OF LOVE, WITH THE WINGS OF MUSIC!
    THIS IS CALLED A CREATOR!
THIS IS AN ERA OF LOVE IN ROCK, LITERALLY CREATED BY ONE MAN, BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY PERFORMER WHO SINGS ONLY AND ONLY ABOUT LOVE!
Thank you, FOR MUSIC, WHICH ALWAYS STRENGTHENS ME!
I wish you long life and happiness!
This is simply a gratitude and recognition from a boy born in a distant country, known as – BULGARIA – THE COUNTRY OF THE SPIRIT!
Thank you and I look forward to your future projects, NALI!!!
And this song – a confession, has become my favorite!
    Thank you… FROM THE HEART!

    Dearest David Darling,
Congratulations on your retirement. Thankyou from the bottom of my codpiece for all of the pleasure your work has brought me over the years. I fell in love with The Snake on release of the Slide it in album and quickly absorbed the back catalogue. When 1987 went BIG I felt a little bit miffed that other people were raving about this NEW band. Time and again is a special song for my wife and I. You truly are a man of ‘Wealth and taste’ and a true British Icon. You really should be ‘Sir David’ as your fans will always see you that way. You are a man of vision and determination and there will not be your kind again. Stay naughty!
